The J. Willard Marriott Library seeks an innovative and dynamic professional for the position of Research Education Librarian to work four weeks each semester at the Utah Asia Campus (UAC) located in Incheon, Korea and spend the rest of the time at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. This is a career-line faculty appointment with funding guaranteed for three years. This is an excellent opportunity to work with University of Utah faculty and students to engage them in information literacy, research, critical thinking, and accurate writing and citation styles. The incumbent will engage with faculty and students across disciplines and campus units and meet regularly with the Marriott Library Associate Dean for Research and User Services. Reporting to the Head of Graduate & Undergraduate Services, the successful candidate will:
Teach library research workshops for 4 weeks each semester at the UAC and participate in teaching at the University of Utah Salt Lake City campus that includes being a guest lecturer for first-year programs and other targeted courses in the campus curriculum.
Provide one-on-one and small group research consultations and offer research and technology assistance in person and online.
Participate in outreach and engagement to the Salt Lake City and the UAC campus that expands connections and builds partnerships.
Participate in the development of the print collection at the Incheon Global Campus.
Lead instructional design efforts through:
Plan and implement orientation and retention events at both campuses.
Be professionally active through participation in appropriate professional societies and through research and publication.

Compensation: $53,000 - 60,000 dependent on qualifications, a $3,000 supportive yearly stipend while working at the UAC, plus excellent benefits including a 14.2% retirement contribution to TIAA-CREF/Fidelity, medical and dental coverage, and paid sick and vacation time. The University will provide travel for round trip airline tickets to get to Korea and back again each semester. Housing at the UAC provided by the University.
